About UsJeff Goin is almost pathologically intrigued with flying paramotors and everything related to them. He believes that, for many reasons, the electric PPG will revolutionize the sport. It may never replace the internal combustion engine, but like in R/C airplanes, it will sure make an awfully big dent. This site is intended as an information clearinghouse for the electric paramotor. To promote and encourage it. There is no equipment for sale nor will there likely be. The hope is to share information and promote the success of Electric PPG. Jeff's business is only information (www.footflyer.com) where every effort is made to present useful, unbiased information on the sport of powered paragliding. FootFlyer endeavors to equip pilots with the tools they need to not just stay alive, but to thrive in the sport. It is our passion that this amazing form of flight remain available and minimally regulated for generations to come. That requires knowledgeable, courteous pilots flying within their limits and not attracting unsavory attention. We must always remember that, as Jerry Daniele said, we fly at the pleasure of the people. ExperienceJeff says: "I been flying paramotors since early 1999, falling completely in love with this form of flight. I tinker just enough to recognize the value of those who design and build things—especially since the market is not likely going to make anyone rich. My background is in aviation but I spent many years flying R/C gas airplanes, entering the electric R/C realm in 2003 through a gift from PPG pilot Marc Damon. It's capability was impressive and, like many other PPG pilots, I longed for the day when electrics could be applied to a paramotor. In 2005 I talked to Csaba Lemak about his electric PPG plans and agreed that a successful unit able to fly for at least 30 minutes would be of great interest. Csaba had (and has) much bigger plans. Admittedly I didn't think much about it until hearing the news: Csaba was successful. It was exciting when those efforts paid off and opened wide the floodgates of desire. His success also upped the voltage on development, spawning others to the same goal." |
